Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

LC50 = 24 mg/L for bluegill sunfish Lepomis macrochirus (EPA-660/3-75-009, static) exposed to Alcohols, C7-9-iso-, C8-rich.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Alcohols, C7-9-iso, C8-rich, produced a 96-hour LC50 value of 24 mg/l (nominal) with bluegill sunfish, Lepomis macrochirus. Supporting information is provided by a 96-hour measured LC50 of 14mg/L for a similar substance, 1 -octanol, for fathead minnow, Pimphales promelas; and also by acute aquatic toxicity values calculated using the neutral organics structure-activity relationship in the ECOSAR computer program (Nabholz and Mayo-Bean, 2009) of EPISuite; the results of which are consistent with the measured test data.
