Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
As the test item is not stable in water at the concentration used, the water solubility was not determinable.
Details on results:
At the beginning of all experiments, the solutions appeared homogeneous and slightly yellow without precipitate. After equilibration time, no precipitate was observed in the flasks of the 24 h experiment and the blank experiment. In the flasks of the 48 h experiment and the 72 h experiment, a black precipitate was found.

The test item is a complex compound. Regarding the behaviour of the test item, it can be assumed that this complex compound is not stable in water at the concentration used. As the test item was dissolved completely at the beginning of the stirring time, no further analytical determination was performed.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of tetraamminepalladium dihydroxide was not determinable as the test item was not stable in water.
Executive summary:

Winkler (2017) is a GLP-compliant study following OECD guideline 105 and EU method A6. It is considered suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint.
