Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No microbial inhibition test is available for propylene glycol n-propyl ether.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
40 mg/L

Additional information

An aerobic biodegradation DOC die-away test following OECD Method 301A determinded propylene glycol n-propyl ether to be readily biodegradable as >70% of the material was degraded in the first 10 days. The highest concentration used in the study was 40 mg/L and no evident toxicity to the sludge occurred at this dose. This value of 40 mg/L is therefore used to calculate an STP PNEC inthe absence of any data on toxicity microorganisms.
