Additional information

A bacterial reverse mutation assay (Ames), a CHO/HGPRT forward mutation assay and a chromosomal aberration assay using rat lymphocytes were conducted on Propylene Glycol n-Propyl Ether. All three studies showed negative results.

Short description of key information:
GLP-studies according to OECD guidelines 471, 473 and 476 are available for propylene glycol n-propyl ether.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

In 3 in vitro assays Propylene Glycol n-Propyl Ether showed negative results for gene mutation in bacteria as well as for gene mutation and chromosomal aberration in mammalian cells. Based on these consistent negative results in all conducted studies no classification for genotoxicity is required.
