Two study reports and two internet sources have been provided on a weight of evidence basis to address this endpoint. The reliability of the reports varied according to the principles for assessing data quality set out in Klimisch (1997). Rudio (1994) and Richold (1980) were assigned reliability scores of 2. It was not possible to assess the reliability of the information provided in the internet sources, Good Scents Company (2011) and JECFA (2012), thus they were both assigned a reliability score of 4.
Visual and organoleptic observations were made on the physical state, colour and odour of the test material in a number of studies and are reported in various other company and organisation databases. All information presented on the physical state, appearance, colour and odour of the test material were in good agreement. The test material was consistently described as a clear, colourless oily liquid. The odour was described as honey, rose-like.
