Details on results:
In all tested samples, pH values and oxygen concentrations measured were in the range of the control values (pH: 7.9 to 8.4, oxygen: 7.2 to 8.9 mg/L).
Conclusions:
The short-term toxicity test was done according to DIN 38412 L 15 (Fish, short-time test), Leuciscus idus melanotus were exposed to test item for 96hours. LC50 was determined 5.2 mg/L nominal.
Executive summary:

The short-term toxicity test was done according to DIN 38412 L 15 (Fish, short-time test), Leuciscus idus melanotus were exposed to test item for 96hours. LC50 was determined 5.2 mg/L nominal.

Description of key information

The toxicity of 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene was tested towards fish (Leuciscus idus) in a static system. Therefore, 10 animals per concentration were exposed for 96 h at a temperature of 20 °C. Stock solutions were prepared by dissolving the test substance directly in the test media (dechlorinated tap water). During the whole experiment, behaviour of the fish was periodically checked and dead animals were removed. The test was evaluated after a duration of 48 h and 96 h, whereas only the latter time point was used for the risk assessment. A LC50 of 5.2 mg/L (nominal) was determined.
