Additional information

Two main reliable key studies are available on freshwater fish: A Japanese study (MoE 1998) on Oryzias latipes gives a LC50-96h of 5.57 mg/L, and a study by Morris (1993) on Onchorynchus mykiss gives a LC50-96h of 11 mg/L. The results are consistent and the 96h-LC50s are within a factor of 2 (5.6 – 11 mg/L).

There is no data on marine fish, but studies with the common metabolite of the category, methacrylic acid, indicate that marine species are not expected to be more sensitive to methacrylates than freshwater species (Sverdrup, 2001).
