Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to a Mackay Level I model calculation, the main target compartments for 2H-Azepin-2-one, hexahydro-, polymer with 1,6-diisocyanatohexane will be sediment (40.2 %) and soil (39.7 %). The calculated Henry’s Law constant of 0.0010 Pa m³/mol at 20 °C indicates low volatility from surface waters. With an adsorption coefficient of log Koc = 4.05 or higher, a „very high“ sorption potential of the substance to soil or sediment organic matter is expected (Blume scale). Very low release rates are expected in association with very high elimination via adsorption in waste-water treatment plants.

The QSAR calculated rate constant for the OH sensitized photodegradation of 2H-Azepin-2-one, hexahydro-, polymer with 1,6-diisocyanatohexane, (surrogate: blocked trimer) is approximately 9.28524E-11 cm3/(molecule * s). At 500,000 OH radicals / cm3 (typical for central), this corresponds to a half-life of 4.15 hours. For environmental hydrolysis, a half life of > 1 year can be assumed. 2H-Azepin-2-one, hexahydro-, polymer with 1,6-diisocyanatohexane was observed to be "not readily biodegradable" (no confirmed biodegradation within 28 days) in two independent studies. The partition coefficient 1-octanol/water was determined as log Kow = 4.4 or higher at 23.3 °C, indicating high potential for bioaccumulation.
