Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter

Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Annex IX, column 2, endpoint 9.3.1, the adsorption/desorption screening study does not need to be conducted as the substance has a low potential for adsorption based on log Kow ≤ 3. However, according to the Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/979 of 17 June 2021, a study for Adsorption/desorption (9.3.1 of Annex VIII) may not be waived on the basis of low octanol-water partition coefficient alone, unless the adsorptive properties of the substance are solely driven by lipophilicity”. Therefore, a study according to OECD 121 is initiated and will be submitted mid-2022.
