Description of key information

Melting Point

Under the conditions of an EU Method A.1 and DIN 51004 guideline study, the first melting point of Dioctyltin mercaptopropionate was 83 °C and the second melting point was 200 °C. The occurrence of a second melting point indicates that the Dioctyltin mercaptopropionateh as a polymeric structure, even in the molten state.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
200 °C

Additional information

Melting Point

The melting point of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guidelines EU Method A.1 and DIN 51004 using differential scanning calorimetry. The study was awarded a reliability score of 2 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

Under the conditions of the study the first melting point of the test material was 83 °C and the second melting point was 200 °C. The occurrence of a second melting point indicates that the test material has a polymeric structure, even in the molten state.
