Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

AMIX TE (Oxirane, reaction products with ammonia, distn. residues, CAS 68953-70-8) is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

In a GLP study according to OECD 301A, the ready biodegradability of AMIX TE (CAS 68953-70-8) was tested (BASF AG, 1996, project no. 95/0675/21/1). The inoculum was non-acclimated activated sludge from a laboratory sewage treatment plant receiving domestic and synthetic sewage. The substance was removed by 90 to 100% based on DOC after 20 d. The 10 d window was kept. Therefore it can be concluded that the substance is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
