Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to the ready biodegradability of the AMIX TE (CAS 68953 -70 -8) and the structural properties of the components, hydrolysis is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the study does not need to be conducted as AMIX TE (CAS 68953 -70 -8) is readily biodegradable (BASF AG, 1996; project no. 95/0675/21/1). Its major components are substances which lack hydrolytically reactive functional groups (e.g. alcohols, olefins, ethers, amines), hydrolysis is not expected to be an important fate process (Harris 1990, Boethling & Mackey 2000). The following three substances are the main constituents of AMIX TE:

- 2,2’,2’’-Nitriloethanol (CAS 102-71-6): typical concentration: 86%

- 2,2’-[[2-(2-Hydroxyethoxy)ethyl]imino]bisethanol (CAS 17626-34-5): typical conc.: 6%

- Piperazine-1,4-diethanol (CAS 122-96-3): typical conc.: 0.1%
