Additional information

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Annex A.14, usíng BAM Fall Hammer Test, Friction Test and Koenen Steel Tube Test. The ICI study no. HT46/87 determined that the results in all tests were negative for explosive properties . Therefore the sample was not explosive.

ADDENDUM TO THE NOTIFICATION OF NEW SUBSTANCES REPORT ON THE FIRE AND EXPLOSION PROPERTIES O F SUBSTANCE H109360/WATER/ETHYL ALCOHOL

Some evaporation of the amine may have occurred in the Friction and Heat tests and the presence of the water may have attenuated all three test results, but it is expected that the results will apply equally to the amine alone because its chemical structure shows that it does not contain any primary explosive groups .

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008:

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Regulation (EC) No 605/2014., the substance is not considered to be classified for explosive properties.
