Additional information

MPP is an essentially involatile powder with a high melting point (>360 °C) and a very low vapour pressure (9.5 x 10 -6 Pa at 25 °C). It is quite dense for an organic substance, with a relative density of 1.82, probably reflecting the fact that it is the salt of an inorganic acid. MPP has no functional groups that suggest it has surface active properties. It is non-flammable when in contact with an ignition source, does not generate flammable gases in contact with water and does not spontaneously ignite in air. It has no self-heating tendency, is non-oxidising and is not explosive.

Based on the available physicochemical data MPP is not classified for physical hazard according to the classification criteria prescribed by the CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
