One study investigating the toxicity to microorganisms according to EU Method C.11, is available for Isotianil (Neuhahn, 2010). This respiration inhibition test with domestic activated sludge determined an EC50 (3h) of >1000 mg/L (nominal). No inhibition on respiration rate was observed for the test item at the nominal tested concentrations of 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L (above the water solubility of 0.5 mg/L). Thus, a disturbance of the biodegradation process in a sewage treatment plant is not anticipated.
