Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Testing for this endpoint has been waived as an experiment is considered scientifically unjustified.

A read-across from water (CAS 7732-18-5) was performed (Frère 2010b). The overall vapour pressure of the submission item was approximated based on the combined molarity of the metal chlorides and hydrochloric acid, calculated from the freezing point depression reported in the respective section (Frère 2010b). The vapour pressure of the submission item as placed on the market was approximated to be 20.0 hPa at 20 °C, which is slightly below the pure water vapour pressure.

It is nonetheless considered that this water-triggered value is not helpful for assessment. The environmental fate of the metal kations contained in the submission item rather than contained water seem relevant as they trigger hazard and risk. Thus the value for the assessment has been set to a low value, which reflects the properties of the metal species.
