Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
06.03.2019 - 07.09.2019
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test material was supplied as a solution. The test material was isolated as a light green solid after being stripped to dryness on a rotary evaporator and further dried in an oven at 40°C. Preliminary estimation for water was taken from the water solubility test data sheet
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Remarks on result:
other: log Pow
Remarks:
<-6.025
Details on results:
Preliminary Estimation
0.30 mg of test material was added to 30 mL of octanol, shaken and sonicated for 5-10 minutes. Undissolved test material remained in the solution. 0.32 mg of test material was added to 321 mL of octanol, shaken and sonicated for 5-10 minutes. Undissolved test material remained in the solution.
After standing overnight, the 0.32 mg of test material in 321 mL of octanol (concentration 0.997 mg/L) was further shaken and sonicated. Small light green particles of test material remained on the base of the flask.

The result for the partition coefficient has been reported based on the individual solubilities obtained for the preliminary estimation.
As the isolated test material did not dissolve in the octanol and was fully miscible in water the result has been reported as Log Pow < -6.025.
Conclusions:
Log pow < -6.025

Description of key information
