Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water mist
Dry powder
Foam
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Sand
Aqueous film forming foam (AFFF).

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon oxides, Fluorine compounds

Advice for firefighters:
- Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Further information: In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions: Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up :
Large spills: Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material. Keep in properly labelled containers.
Small spills: Gently cover the spill with an absorbent towel or pad.
Large spills + Small spills: Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations".

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling : To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat. Use personal protective equipment as required. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Avoid inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin and eyes. Do not use in areas without adequate ventilation.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Flammable

Hygiene measures : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight. Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store at room temperature.

Recommended storage temperature: 15 - 25 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures:
Engineering controls should be used as the primary means to control possible exposures. Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep exposure levels below recommended exposure limits. All personal protective equipment should be based on a risk assessment. Consult a Environment Health Safety expert if necessary.

Personal protective equipment

Eye protection : Tightly fitting safety goggles

Hand protection material : Nitrile rubber

Remarks: Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact). Impervious gloves

Skin and body protection : chemical resistant apron, coat or coverall

Respiratory protection : Engineering controls should always be the primary method of controlling exposures. If respiratory protective equipment is needed for certain activities, the type as well as the corresponding protection factor will depend upon the risk assessment and air concentrations, hazards, physical and warning properties of substances present. Use only respiratory protection that conforms to international/ national standards. Respirator with a vapour filter ABEK

Protective measures : The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: None reasonably foreseeable.

Chemical stability: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions Hazardous reactions : No data available

Conditions to avoid: To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat. Heat, flames and sparks.

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides, Fluorocarbons

Disposal considerations

Product: Must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities. In accordance with National, Federal, State and Local regulations.

Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
