Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
The flammability (contact with water) has been assessed on a structural basis. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas. Moreover, the test item is 74% aqueous solution. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite spontaneously in contact with water. In conclusion, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is considered ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
The pyrophoric properties of the test item has been assessed on a structural basis.  None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with air. Moreover the test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature. In conclusion, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate has no pyrophoric properties.

Description of key information

Flammability (contact with water):

The flammability (contact with water) has been assessed on a structural basis. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas. Moreover, the test item is 74% aqueous solution. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite spontaneously in contact with water.

In conclusion, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is considered ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.

Pyrophoric Properties:

The pyrophoric properties of the test item has been assessed on a structural basis.  None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with air. Moreover the test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature.

In conclusion, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate has no pyrophoric properties.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is considered ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water, nor does the test item express any pyrophoric properties.
