Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The MMAD (Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter < 100µm) has a value of 50.01 µm as spherical particles.

Additional information

According to OECD guideline 110 the particle size distribution of disodium-naphthalene-1,5-disulfonate monohydratewas determined by scanning electron microscopy method for the sieved fraction (< 100 µm, 63.21 % of total sample) and presented on the basis of calculated mass fractions. The median diameter has a value of 50.01 µm as spherical particles with the main fraction of 78.79 % distributing in the range of 10 - 100 µm.

Hence the tested particles with sieved size smaller than 100 µm are mainly dominated by inhalable fractions as defined in EU 481.
