Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
9 March 1990 - 26 March 1990
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study conducted to GLP in compliance with agreed protocols, with no or minor deviations from standard test guidelines and/or minor methodological deficiencies, which do not affect the quality of the relevant results.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
See below
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The guideline states that the test material should be dissolved in a suitable solvent and coated onto the support material. No suitable solvent could be found and so the test material was dry mixed with the support material.
This deviation was not considered to affect the validity of the study or the results.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
column elution method
Water solubility:
13 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7.6
Details on results:
In the first determination (A), it was apparent that saturation was not reached, even after 98 hours; these values were not used to calculate the water solubility.
In the second determination (B), saturation was reached after 54 hours (Sample Number B6) and the values from sample numbers B6, B7, B8, B9 and B10 were used to calculate the water solubility.

Mean of B6, B7, B8, B9 and B10 = 13 mg/L
Range = 11.7 to 13.6 mg/L
Standard deviation = 0.000733

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
The water solubility was determined to be 13 mg/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.
Executive summary:

A study was carried out to determine the water solubility of the test material in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.6.

The investigation was carried out using the column elution method with a recirculating pump and the water solubility was determined to be 13 mg/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.

Description of key information
