Results and Discussoins

The calibration factorΦbwas determined to be 1.0176 for double distilled water. The data are part of Harlan Laboratories' instruments files and a copy is presented in the raw data of thepresent study.

From the individual measurements for the surface tension of the aqueous test item solution, the mean and the corrected value for the given solution were calculated.

Conclusions:
The surface tension of MEXORYL SBU in water (at a concentration of about 1 g/L) was determined to be 56.3 mN/m at 19.7 °C ± 0.1 °C. Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC Guideline and the results of this study, MEXORYL SBU has to be considered as a surface active substance.
Executive summary:
The surface tension of MEXORYL SBU in water (at a concentration of about 1 g/L) was determined to be

56.3mN/mat 19.7 °C ± 0.1 °C.

Based on the criteria as outlined in theGuideline and the results of this study, MEXORYL SBU has to be considered as a surface active substance.
