Details on results:
As a conclusion of the analytical part of this study, it must be stated that the concentrations of „(benzylamine)trifluoroboron“ decreased by 15% up to 68%: After 48 hr at 10 mg/L there was a recovery of 31.5% of the initial concentration measured a time t0. At 160 mg/L 85% of the initial concentration was measured after 48hr. Based on this, the reported effect concentrations (EC values) should refer to measured concentrations of the test item.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
In order to verify the sensitivity of the test system towards toxic items the effect of potassium dichromate towards different animals of this breed was tested prior to beginning of the test. The value of the EC50 (24hr) in this period of time was 0.84 mg/L potassium dichromate.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
The validity criteria for the study as given by the OECD Guideline 202 were met.
Conclusions:
The study is regarded as a valid guideline study with certificated GLP compliance. The reported result for EC50 is 66.5 mg/L.
Executive summary:

„(benzylamine)trifluoroboron“ was tested for acute toxicity towards daphnia according to OECD-Test Guideline 202 (version dated 13-Apr-2004). In order to investigate the influence of the test item towards the daphnias, the swimming behaviour of the animals was recorded. Under the conditions used for the test, immobilisation of the daphnias was observed at concentrations of the test item at concentrations 80 mg/L up to 160 mg/L active substance. Within the main test the test item was tested at concentrations 10 to 160 mg/L. The reported results for EC50 after 48 hr are 82.8 mg/L on basis of the nominal concentrations and 66.5 mg/L on basis of the measured concentrations.

The test is considered valid as all conditions for vylidity were met: In the control without any test item no dead animals were observed. In the test solutions the oxygen concentration did not drop below a value of 60% of the saturation value of approx. 5 mg/ O2/L.
