Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. If

irritation persists seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.  Immediately remove contaminated

clothing.  Seek medical attention if irritation develops.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus required.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage:

Wear suitable protective clothing

Remove sources of ignition.

Ventilate area and pick up

liquid with suitable absorbant.

Prevent entry into sewers or

water courses.

Either recycle or transfer to labelled

containers and dispose of in accordance with national/local

regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Observe the usual precautions for handling organic chemicals.

Avoid inhalation and ensure adequate ventilation.

Protective

clothing, eye/face protection and gloves should be worn.

Storage: Store in well ventilated area, away from sources of

ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel closed head drums with two bungs.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Controls

Use material in well ventilated area only. Additional ventilation or exhaust may be required to maintain air concentrations below recommended exposure limits.

Hand Protection: Nitrile gloves.

Eye Protection: Safety glasses. If potential for splash or mist exists, wear chemical goggles or faceshield.

Respiratory Protection:  Under normal use conditions, respirator is not usually required. Use disposable dust/mist mask if the recommended exposure limit is exceeded. Use self-contained breathing apparatus for entry into confined space, for other poorly ventilated areas and for large spill clean-up sites.

Clothing Recommendation: Long sleeve shirt is recommended. Wear either a chemical protective suit or apron when potential for contact with material exists. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with oxidising agents.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not applicable, viscous liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The preparation containing the substance is recycled in use

(by filtration to remove swarf) until it no longer

functions. The substance itself can be recycled, if spilt,

by filtration.

This material, if discarded, should be considered a European hazardous waste in accordance with European Law.

(A622)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not permitted

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a suitable facility fitted with waste gas

treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not permitted.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
