Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Type:
- relative density
- Density:
- ca. 1.04
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Conclusions:
- The relative density of Isopentyl p-methoxycinnamate was 1.04±0.01 at 20°C.
- Executive summary:
A relative density of test substance determined using Pycnonmeter method in accordance with EU A3 was 1.04±0.01 at 20°C.
The measurement was performed in duplicate using 25 mL pycnometers and the average value was taken as the result. The true volume of the density bottles was determined using distilled water, then the weight of an equivalent volume, at 20°C, of the test substance was determined and the relative density was calculated.
The relative density of the two test substancce samples was 1.0388 for both. This average value was rounded up to 1.04.
As the test substance is immiscible in water and shows a relative density slightly above 1.0, it is not expected to sink in water.
