Additional information

An acute oral toxicity study was conducted under OECD TG 401 in compliance with GLP (MHW Japan, 1994). Sodium hydrogen 4-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonate was administered once by gavage to Crj:CD(SD) rats (5 animals/sex/group) at a dose of 0 and 2000 mg/kg bw. The purity of the tested substance was 87.4 %; in use the dose was converted by the purity. No deaths occurred of either males or females in any of the treated groups. No effects were detected in terms of general condition, body weight changes or autopsy. The oral LD50 value in rats for sodium hydrogen 4-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonate was greater than 2000 mg/kg bw in both sexes.
