Description of key information

Data waiving: the substance is highly insoluble in water and it is not technically feasible to perform the testing.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The solubility of the substance is 4 × 10-6M, which is considered too much low to allow the proper performance of the test according to the guidelines OECD 111 and EU Method C7.

Additionally, based on the molecular structure of 4,6-bis(octylthiomethyl)-o-cresol, hydrolysis is not expected under environmentally relevant conditions
