Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: The substance is not known to be hazardous by inhalation,
but if exposed to dust, move to area of fresh air and seek
medical advice if signs of discomfort.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes.
Obtain medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and
wash before re-use. Obtain medical advice if signs of
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water and obtain medical advice if signs of
discomfort. The induction of vomiting is not recommended
without medical supervision.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: There is no known reaction with standard extinguishing
agents, other than hydrolysis in water.

Agents such as dry chemical, carbon dioxide, foams and water
spray are acceptable. If water is used, the fate of run-off
water must be considered.

Product arising from burning: Normal combustion will lead to the formation of carbon
dioxide, oxides of nitrogen and hydrogen chloride gas.
Incomplete combustion (with lack of oxygen) may lead to the
formation of complex carbon and nitrogen products, including
amines. Nitrous acids and hydrochloric acid may be formed
in the presence of water.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Suitable for protection against strong acids, to include
face mask, neoprene gloves, breathing aparatus and overalls.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up and dispose of as chemical waste in suitably
labelled containers. PPE should be used as recommended when
handling the substance and care should be taken to avoid the
generation of dust.

The area can be washed with water, but care should be taken
to avoid run-off into non-controlled drainage systems or
water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be provided to
prevent unnecessary contact with skin, eyes or by inhalation
of dust.

Typical PPE includes; spirit resistant gloves, air-fed face
mask, overalls and safety boots.

Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions. No special precautions.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Typically packed 25 or 100 kg in sealed 4-layer plastic

lined high density polyethylene drums.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Not considered to be dangerously reactive.

Chemical reaction with water: Not violently reactive with water.

Dust explosion: Data is not available, but as with all organic powders, care
must be taken to prevent conditions which could arise to a
dust explosion.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is consumed during use and there is not a
possibility of recycling the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Controlled discharge is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: This is not a recommended method of disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Landfill of low level waste is possible, as permitted by
local regulations.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable to the general public.
