Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The substance is not subject to classification.
Executive summary:

The effect threshold and the lethal treshold (96h) of the test substance 2-CYANIMINO-l,3 -THIAZOLIDINE (CIT), an intermediate for the production of the insecticide YRC 2894 with a purity of 98.0 % to Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in a static 96-hour-limit-test was determined to be >102 (>100) mg test substance (a.i.)/l.

In this test one group often fish was exposed to nominal concentration of 102(100) mg test substance

(pure intermediate)/!. One additional group often fish was exposed to untreated test water. There were

neither mortalities nor symptoms of intoxication in the control group.

In the tested concentration at 102(100) mg test substance (pure intermediate)/l no fish showed any

symptoms.

The test substance was homogeneously mixed into the aquarium. Under test conditions the test

substance was stable. Analysis resulted in values between 101 % at day 0 and 103 % at day 4 (based on

analytical determination of 2-CYANIMINO-1,3-THIAZOLIDINE (CIT) in water by HPLC of nominal.

All reported results are related to nominal concentration of the test substance.
