Results and discussion
Small-scale preliminary tests
- Key result
- Parameter:
- other: Differential scanning calorimetry
- Remarks on result:
- not thermal sensitive if heated under defined confinement
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- GHS criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- The test item is no subject to the classification procedures for self-reactive substances. The acceptance procedures for Class 1 explosives need not to be applied.
- Executive summary:
A screening test via DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) was conducted from 0°C to 520 °C.
During the DSC run no exothermic event caused by decomposition was observed, only an endothermic event at an onset of 133.63 °C and a turbulent base line from 195.72 °C were detected.
Therefore, it is stated:- the test item is no subject to the classification procedures for self-reactive substances.
- the acceptance procedures for Class 1 explosives need not to be applied. according to the UN Handbook “Manual of Tests and Criteria”; seventh revised edition, 2019, Section 20.2.1, 20.3.3.3 and Appendix 6.
