Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
dissociation constant
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is hydrolytically unstable (half-life less than 12 hours)
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is insoluble
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
[Specific explanation in addition to field 'Justification for data waiving']
The following assessment of the reaction of the test item with water was supplied by the Sponsor:
Na2-xMn1-y[Fe(CN)6]1-z ⇌ (2-x) Na+(aq) + (1-y) Mn2+(aq) + (1-z) [Fe(CN)6]4-(aq)
(slow, low solubility)
Therefore, as the test item was considered to only dissolve in water via decomposition, as opposed to actual solubility of the parent test item, it was considered that an assessment of its hydrolytic stability according to Method C.7 Abiotic Degradation, Hydrolysis as a Function of pH of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 111 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004, was not feasible.
