Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
After inhalation:
Remove to fresh air and keep at rest.
In case of unconsciousness, place the victim in recovery position and call medical assistance.
If breathing is difficult, immediately call medical assistance. Give oxygen or artificial respiration.
After skin contact:
Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes.
Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.
If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
After eyes contact:
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
After ingestion:
IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.
Never induce vomiting an unconscious person to avoid any respiratory tracts obstruction. In this case, place the person in recovery position and keep warm until the arrival of the medical assistance.
If person is conscious, rinse out mouth with water.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or polymer foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:Substance is not flammable. However, in a fire, it can decompose, giving off toxic fumes of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Advice for firefighters / responders: Firefighting responders should equip themselves with a complete body and heat resistant protective equipment and self contained breathing apparatus (EN 137 / EN 145).
Water should be applied to cool containers of the substance that are exposed to flames.
Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Ventilate contaminated area. Avoid contact with the released substance. Avoid inhalation.
Remove from spill site any person whose presence is not necessary. Keep upwind. The others should wear protective cloth, breathing apparatus, chemical safety goggles, rubber boots and rubber gloves.
Environmental precautions: Shut off leaks if without risk. Prevent liquid from entering the environment.
Do not flush spill area with plenty of water before picking-up, to avoid contamination of the watercourses and low areas.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Pump the largest quantity of spilled product in a drum (use an explosion proof pump). This product should be disposed. Absorb the last traces of liquid on sand or vermiculite and place in tightly closed and labelled drums/containers for disposal. Wash spill site with plenty of water after material pickup is complete.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Precautions for safe handling: Handle and use only in well-ventilated areas. Safety shower and eyewash fountain should be available.
Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood.
Use personal protective equipment as required.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid inhalation. Avoid repeated or prolonged exposure.
Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep apart working clothes.
Storage:
Technical measures: The ground of the storage area must be waterproof and form retention basin.
Storage conditions: Keep containers tightly closed. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
Incompatible materials: Keep away from strong acids or strong oxidising agents.
Packaging materials: Plastic PEHD drums.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Technical protection measures: The use of local exhaust is recommended to avoid vapour emissions.
Eye protection: Chemical safety goggles with side shields / Face shield (EN 166).
Skin protection: Suitable protective body clothing (EN 14605 in case of splashes).
Hand protection: gloves with minimum protection index of 4 (permeation time > 120 min according to EN 374): butyl rubber, PVC.
Respiratory protection: Respirator (EN 140 / EN 136) with filter (EN 14387/A1 – Type A) when risk of inhalation. Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 137 / EN 14593 / EN 14594) in case of important risk or prolonged exposure, for example in case of fire fighting.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical Stability: The substance is stable at room temperature and under normal storage and handling conditions. Self-ignition: 229 +/- 3°C.
Conditions to avoid: Heat: decomposition above 105°C - Water: fast degradation in water.
Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents and strong acids.
Dust explosion: Not concerned.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods:
Product residues: Do not reject in natural environment. Dissolve or mix with a combustible solvent and burn in an adequate incinerator.
Contaminated packaging: Empty containers/drums should be handled with the same precautions than the full ones.
Contaminated packaging have to be disposed in a site approved for chemical and hazardous waste or burned in a specialised burning centre.
In every case, the wastes must be disposed in accordance with local regulations.
