Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
November 15, 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
The study was conducted according to an internationally recognised method, and under GLP. The test substance is adequately characterised. Therefore full validation applies.

Individual results

Two tests were performed at 20.0 °C. The results are summarised in Table 4.4.1.

Final results

The relative density of the test item at 20 °C (compared to water at 4 °C) according to the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 and in the OECD 109 was determined to be: D420= 0.89

Conclusions:
The test substance is less dense than water.
The mean relative density of the test item was D20/4 = 0.89 ± 0,01
Executive summary:

The density of the test substance was measured according to OECD 109 / EU A3 guideline, using oscillating density meter. After calibration, two determinations were performed and the mean value was retained.

Description of key information

The test substance is less dense than water.

The mean relative density of the test item was D20/4 = 0.89 ± 0,01

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.89

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to OECD 109 /EU A3 guideline, using oscillating density meter, is available. It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.
