- Conclusions:
- The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol. The vapour pressure of the test item at 20 °C (293 K) was determined to be <1.3x10-8 Pa and at 25 °C (293 K) was <3.9x10-8 Pa.
- Executive summary:
The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol, accoding to OECD 104 & EC A.4. The vapour pressure of the test item at 20 °C (293 K) was determined to be <1.3x10-8 Pa and at 25 °C (293 K) was <3.9x10-8 Pa.
Reference
Weight losses were observed from the start of the experiments. Weight decreased non-linearly during isothermal steps, however, this was most likely due to evaporation of minor volatile components or (partial) reaction and/or decomposition.
In the range of 200 °C and 230 °C a log p versus 1/T curve for the test item could not be determined since the coefficient of correlation (r) was < 0.99. This was most likely due to the fact that the test item is a complex substance.
Since no accurate vapour pressure could be calculated from the obtained results, the weight losses were compared with the results of benzo(ghi)perylene (a reference substance). Since the weight loss of the test item was lower than the weight loss of the reference compound (except at 200 °C, where it was comparable) the vapour pressure of the test item is considered to be below the vapour pressure of benzo(ghi)perylene.
The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol.
The vapour pressure of the test item at 20 °C (293 K) was <1.3x10-8 Pa or <1.0x10-10 mmHg.
The vapour pressure of the test item at 25 °C (293 K) was <3.9x10-8 Pa or <3.0x10-10 mmHg.
Description of key information
The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride and propylidenetrimethanol in a study run to EC A.4 and OECD 104. The vapour pressure of the test item at 20 °C (293 K) was determined to be <1.3x10-8 Pa and at 25 °C (293 K) was <3.9x10-8 Pa.
