Description of key information

MTDID 15670 is hydrolytically unstable.

Additional information

Measured hydrolysis half-life values are 2.08 hours at pH 7 and 4 °C, and 4.59 hours at pH 4 and 50 °C. The mechanism of hydrolysis appears to be base catalyzed. The half-life at pH 9 was too short be determined analytically. The half-life at pH 7 is too short to measure at any temperature greater than 4 °C. The hydrolysis products are crotononitrile (CAS# 4786-20-3), dodecyl ethyl sulfide (No CAS#), and tetrafluoroboric acid, CAS# 16872-11-0 (dissociates to tetrafluoroborate in aqueous solution). Owing to lack of significant vapor pressure, phototransformation in air of MTDID 15670 was not determined.
