Description of key information

Based on its physical chemical properties, Tonka bean concrete does not need to be classified as hazardous according to the criteria of Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP).

Tonka bean concrete is a viscous liquid according to the analytical data from owner company.

The melting/freezing point of Tonka bean concrete was determined to be 6.9°C according to OECD TG 102 the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method.

The boiling point of Tonka bean concrete was determined to be 255.4°C according to OECD TG 103 the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method.

The relative density of Tonka bean concrete was determined to be 0.9247 at 20°C in a study equivalent to OECD TG 109 using the oscillating densitometer method.

The vapour pressure of Tonka bean concrete was found to be 1.67 Pa at 24°C.The vapour pressure of Tonka bean concrete was investigated using the Transpiration method equivalent to OECD TG 104, gas saturation method.

The partition coefficient of Tonka bean concrete has been determined as log P = 1.1-1.7 at 25°C in a study equivalent to OECD Guideline 117 (HPLC Method).

The water solubility of Tonka bean concrete was determined to be 3719.5 mg/l @ 24°C using a study equivalent to OECD TG 105 (Water solubility) using the shake flask method.

The Flash Point of Tonka bean concrete, at atmospheric pressure of 101300Pa, is 104°C in study using the closed cup method equivalent to EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point). Substance is not considered a flammable liquid because the flash point exceeds 60°C based on the classification criteria for flammable liquids (Annex I of CLP Section 2.6).

Tonka bean concrete has an auto-ignition temperature of 400ºC at atmospheric pressure according to the guideline EU Method A.15
