First-aid measures

- General advice:
- Following inhalation: Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Immediate medical attention is required.
- Following skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. Immediate medical attention is required.
- Following eye contact: Immediate medical attention is required. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
- Following ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: dry powder, dry sand
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: water
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: The combustion and / or decomposition products are irritants, and may cause respiratory problems. Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so. Fight fire from maximum distance or use unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles. Do not get water inside containers. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out. Withdraw immediately in case of rising sound from venting safety devices or discoloration of tank. Always stay away from tanks engulfed in fire.
- Advice for fire fighter: Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. For personal protection see section 8. Further information: Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers. To avoid a strong exothermic reaction do not hose down damaged container with water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
- Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.
- Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
- For personal protection see section 8.
- Remove all sources of ignition.
- Ventilate the area.

Environmental precautions:
- Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water.
- Prevent product from entering drains.
- Avoid release to the environment.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
- Ventilate the area.
- On land, sweep/shovel into suitable disposal containers or vacuum using equipment which avoids ignition risk.
- Use explosion-proof equipment.
- Dust can be a fire or explosion hazard.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
- Only technically qualified personnel or those directly supervised by a technically qualified person should handle this material.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke in areas where this material is used. Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing.
- Do not create dust which can burn/explode.
- Use inert atmosphere within a closed system when processing the product.
- To avoid ignition of vapors by static electricity discharge, all metal parts of the equipment must be grounded.
- Do not breathe dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapours/ spray.
- Flammable vapors may collect in container.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
- Store only in well ventilated, easily accessible area, away from heat/spark and open flame.
- Store in cool place.
- Store in a dry location.
- Store under inert atmosphere.
- Ground all equipment containing this material.
- Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards.
- Storage temperature is from -20 to -45C
- Protect from heat and direct sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:
- If this material is heated and handled in other than a closed system, supplied air respirator, recommended or approved by appropriate local, state or international agency, and operated in a positive pressure mode is recommended.
- Approved respiratory protection equipment is recommended where inhalation exposure is likely.
- Wear a respirator conforming to EN140 or better with filter for organic vapours and dusts
Eye and face protection:
- Closed system
-Conditions may warrant the use of tightly fitting chemical goggles and possibly a face shield.
- In case of open system/spill:
- Respirator with a full face mask.
Skin and body protection:
- Wear impervious protective clothing, including boots, gloves, lab coat, apron or coveralls, as appropriate.
- Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Hygiene measures :
- Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and/or potential hazards that may be encountered during use.
- Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
- Use good personal hygiene practices.
- Wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking, or using toilet facilities.
- Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity : Yes
2. Chemical stability : Reacts with water, Moisture sensitive, Air sensitive.
3. Possibility of hazardous reactions : Hazardous polymerization does not occur.
4. Conditions to avoid : Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Excess heat. Exposure to air. Incompatible products. Exposure to moist air or water.
5. Incompatible materials : Acids. Water. Strong oxidizing agents.
6. Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide (002). Burning produces obnoxious and toxic fumes.

Disposal considerations

Waste is classified as hazardous. Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Dispose of this container to hazardous or special waste collection point. Empty containers retain product residue, (liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous. Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition.
