Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Interpretation of results:
- readily biodegradable
- Conclusions:
- 5-Hexen-1-ol reached a degree of degradation of 100 % (DOC decrease) in the course of 28 days.
Since 5-Hexen-1-ol is degraded by > 70% within 10 days after the time at which the biodegradation has reached 10 %, it is considered to be " readily biodegradable ".
The reference item Sodium benzoate achieved a degree of degradation of > 70 % in the course of 14 days (here: 100 % after 7 days).
Moreover, the difference of extremes of replicate values of the removal of the test item at the plateau, at the end of the 10-d window and at the end of the test was less than 20 %.
Therefore, the test can be regarded as valid.
