First-aid measures
- General advice:
Seek medical advice in case of symptoms caused by eye or skin contact, inhalation or swallowing.
- Following inhalation:
See that there is fresh air.
- Following skin contact:
Wash off with plenty of water and soap immediately.
- Following eye contact:
Open the eyes and rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
- Following ingestion:
Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.
Do not induce vomiting without medical advice.
- Most important symptoms and effects: None known.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray, foam, CO2, dry powder.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media:
high volume water jet
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Carbon oxides
- Advice for fire fighter:
-- Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the case of fire, wear respiratory protective equipment in-dependent of surrounding air and chemical protective suit.
-- Further information: Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.
Flash back possible over considerable distance.
Cool container with jet of water spray from a safe distance
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
Wear personal protective equipment; see "Exposure controls/personal protection".
Do not breathe vapours or spray mist.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentra-tions. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
- Environmental precautions:
Product or extinguishing water with product must not be allowed to enter soil, sewers or natural bodies of water.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Absorb with liquid-binding material, e. g.: diatomaceous earth, sand, universal binder
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
-- Advice on safe handling :
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Do not allow individual / bulk containers to stand open
Do not inhale vapours / aerosols.
-- Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Vapours can form explosive mixtures with air. Keep away from flames / sparks, no smoking.
-- Hygiene measures:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. Wash hands before breaks and immediate-ly after handling the product. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
-- Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Keep in inert gas. Store in the original receptacle, keeping this tightly sealed, under cool and dry conditions. Take precau-tionary measures against static charges.
-- Storage class (TRGS 510): 10, Combustible liquids
