- Details on results:
- The mean solubility in water is 1.3 mg Y/L at pH 6 and 20°C.
This value is calculated as the mean of the solubility measured at a flow rate of 6.25 mL/h and the mean solubility measured at a flow rate of 12.5 mL/h.
The results obtained at a flow rate of 25 mL/h were not used for calculation of the final water solubility value as no stable column elution results were obtained.
Result of test 1: Mean 0.3 mg/L discarded data - not stable (at 25 mL/h, pH 6.0 and 20°C)
Result of test 2: Mean 0.3 mg/L discarded data - not stable (at 25 mL/h, pH 6.0 and 20°C)
Result of test 3: 1.4 mg/L (at 12.5 mL/h, pH 6.0 and 20°C)
Result of test 4: 1.6 mg/L (at 12.5 mL/h, pH 6.0 and 20°C)
Result of test 5: 1.1 mg/L (at 6.25 mL/h, pH 6.0 and 20°C)
Results were validated by:
- Linearity validation: The analysis showed a good linearity of the method (r > 0.99).
- Accuracy validation: Results in dilution mixture showed a good accuracy which indicates acceptable data (recoveries ranged between 70 and 110%).
- Repeatability validation: The results indicated a good precision of the data (RSD < 20%).
- Specificity: The intensity (CPS) of blank samples measured was negligible.
- Limit of quantification: 0.25 mg Y/L
- Limit of detection: 0.05 mg Y/L - Conclusions:
- The water solubility of the test item at pH 6 and 20°C was determined to be 1.3 mg/L (expressed as yttrium content in water).

Description of key information
Based on a reliable guideline study (Jean-Baptiste, 2018, Klimisch score 1) it can be concluded that the water solubility of the test item at 20°C and pH 6 is 1.3 mg/L (expressed as yttrium content in water). Results of this study can be considered reliable without restriction.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Water solubility:
- 1.3 mg/L
- at the temperature of:
- 20 °C
