Description of key information
Appearance:
On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex was found to be a dark red to purple powder.
Melting point:
Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43, the melting point of Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex was estimated to be 350 Deg C.
Boiling Point:
Based on prediction done using MPBPVP v1.43, the Boiling point of chemical Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4-[(4-sulfo-1-naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex (CAS no. 12227-62-2) was estimated to be 853 ˚C.
Density:
Based on prediction done using ACD/I-Lab 2.0,the density of Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex was estimated to be 1.82 g/cm3.
Particle size distribution:
The particle size distribution of Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4-[(4-sulfo-1-naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be in the range of 150 micron to 53 micron.
Vapour pressure:
The estimated vapour pressure of the test substance Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4-[(4-sulfo-1-naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex (CAS no. 12227-62-2) at 25deg C was 6.02E-21 Pa (4.51E-23 mm Hg).
Partition coefficient:
Based on the available data from modeling database using the KOWWIN V1.68 program, the estimated partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substance Aluminium, 3 -hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalene disulfonic acid complex was 1.63.
Water solubility:
The estimated water solubility of Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4-[(4-sulfo-1-naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex at 25 deg C was 0.0017 mg/l.
Surface tension:

This indicates that Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
Aluminium, 3-hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that Aluminium, 3 -hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus Aluminium, 3 -hydroxy-4 -[(4 -sulfo-1 -naphthalenyl)azo]-2,7 -naphthalenedisulfonic acid complex was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.
