Description of key information

No human cancer data were identified and no long-term laboratory animal or cancer bioassays were available. There is no evidence of mutagenic activity in the available genotoxicity studies or hyperplasia/pre-neoplastic effects in the available repeated dose studies on diammonium hexachloropalladate.

Diammonium hexachloropalladate is closely related to dipotassium hexachloropalladate and is considered a suitable surrogate for read-across for this endpoint.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No long-term studies or carcinogenicity bioassays are available. There is no evidence of mutagenic activity in the available genotoxicity studies or hyperplasia/pre-neoplastic effects in the available repeated-dose studies on diammonium hexachloropalladate. As such, classification for carcinogenicity is not appropriate, according to EU CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).
