PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The registered substance is readily biodegradable and therefore is not persistent (P) or very persistent (vP). In addition, with a log Kow lower than 4.5, the registered substance does not meet the criterion for bioaccumulation (B). For the T criterion, no data are available in chronic conditions. However, in acute conditions, the most sensitive species for the registered substance is aquatic invertebrates with an EC50 value well greater than 0.1 mg/L (at 4.7 mg/L). In addition, the substance is not classified as carcinogenic, germ cell mutagenic or toxic for reproduction, and there is no other evidence of chronic toxicity, according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008. Therefore the registered substance is definitively not T.

In conclusion, the registered substance does not meet the PBT nor vPvB criteria.
