Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
auto-flammability
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP compliant, guideline study, available as unpublished report, acceptable without restrictions
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
other: N4 (Modified Method) Self Heating Substances
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the test item was only available in very limited amounts and was extremely expensive. therefore, in order to obtain as much information as possible on the self heating properties of the test item a modified procedure was employed
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

Palladium dichloride showed no signed of self-ignition or self heating over the duration of the test. Authors note that due to an instrumentation error, temperature data acquisition was incomplete during the intiital 24h isothermal period. therefore an additional sample was prepared and this section of the test procedure repeated. This again confirmed that there were no signs of self-ignition or self heating.

Conclusions:
Palladium dichoride showed no signed of self-ignition or self heating over the duration of the test
Executive summary:

This is a GLP compliant, guideline study considered suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. Palladium dichloride showed no signed of self-ignition or self heating over the duration of the test

Description of key information

Palladium dichloride showed no signs of self-ignition or self-heating over the duration of the test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

O'Connor and Woolley (2011) is a GLP compliant, guideline study considered suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. Palladium dichloride showed no signs of self-ignition or self-heating over the duration of the test.
