Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key study: OECD 201. GLP study. The ECr50 (based on growth inhibition rate) of the test item in green algae was > 1.54 mg/L after 72 hours of exposure. The ErC10 and NOEC were > 1.54 and 0.76 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.54 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.76 mg/L

Additional information

Key study: The green algae growth inhibition test was performed according to OECD Guideline 201 (GLP study). Based on preliminary results, the initial density of 1 x 10E4 cells/mL Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed up to 1.61 mg/L (in the filtrate of a loading of 100 mg/L, highest achievable concentration) for 72 hours under static conditions. The ErC50 (based on growth inhibition rate and geometric mean measured concentration) of the test item in green algae, basede on growth inhibition rate and geometric mean measured concentrations, was 1.54 mg/L after 72 hours of exposure. The ErC10 and NOEC were > 1.54 and 0.76 mg/L respectively.
