Remarks:
A negative result was obtained in the test using a 10 cm sample cube at 140°C: no spontane ous ignition occurred and no exothermic effect was observed.

Visual observation of the test sample after the experiment: the test substance had turned into a white residue with some dark discolouration. It indicated that the test substance had slightly decomposed and/or reacted during the experiment. 

 

 

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In a GLP-compliant study performed in accordance with UN-MTC Section 33.3.1 (Test N.4), a negative result was obtained using a 10 cm sample cube at 140°C. From this it was concluded that Phthalyl-L-Glu is not a self-heating substance.
