Additional information

Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol (MIBC) has a low octanol/water partition coefficient (Log Kow = 1.57) and is very soluble in water (21.8 g/L at 20°C). Based on these physico-chemical properties, MIBC when released in the environment is expected to mainly partition in water phase. This is also supported by its predicted log Koc of 27.73 L/kg indicating that MIBC is mobile in soil.

MIBC is readily biodegradable and does not indicate any concern in terms of persistency in the environment.

MIBC high water solubility and low Log Pow tend to confirm that MIBC is not bioaccumulative.
