Three short-term studies are available assessing the aquatic toxicity of dioxolane. In all studies, a very low toxicity to aquatic organisms could be shown. The lowest acute value was obtained from a 96 -hour study to fish. No deaths were observed at the highest test concentration of 95.4 mg/L. The LC50 has therefore been set as >95.4 mg/L.

Only one chronic value is available which was derived from an experimental study. In the study on algae, the 72 -hour NOEC was determined to be above the highest test concentration of 877 mg/L. In addition, two QSARs were conducted for chronic fish and chronic aquatic invertebrates, respectively. The chronic fish QSAR resulted in a long-term value of 546.3 mg/L. The chronic value from the QSAR for aquatic invertebrates was 197.4 mg/L.
