Conclusions:
The particle size distribution of potassium nitrate (crystalline form) was determined by laser diffraction analysis-dry powder module. MMAD= 222.1 µm; 0.21% is < 10.00 µm; 10% is < 94.6 µm; 50% is < 211.8 µm and 90% is < 424.9 µm.

Description of key information

The particle size distribution of potassium nitrate (crystalline form) was determined by laser diffraction analysis-dry powder module (OECD 110, ISO 13320 and CIPAC MT 187, GLP).  MMAD= 222.1 µm; 0.21%, 10%, 50%  and 90% is < 10.00 µm, < 94.6 µm, < 211.8 µm and  < 424.9 µm, resp.

Additional information

Prilled potassium nitrate are considered to have a higher particle size.
