Description of key information

The long-term effects on reproduction were studied in a 21-days semi-static freshwater test according to OECD guideline 211. Daphnia magna were exposed to different concentrations of Benzoguanamine.

Additional information

Long-term toxic effects of Benzoguanamine to aquatic invertebrates were studied in an OECD guideline test (TG 211) with Daphnia magna showing a no observed effect level (NOEC) of 1.91 mg/L based on the selected concentrations in the test. As mortality less than 20 percent in parents was observed and the mean number of living offspring per parent was 148, both validity criteria were considered as fulfilled. Stability of the test substance in the aqueous solution was ensured by analytical measurement on Day 0, 2, 10, 13, 15, and 17. The time-weighted mean value gave clear indication that the concentration maintained above 95 % of nominal concentration during the exposure period.
